At 'The
Barn' you will find one of the best plant centres in the North West.
Concentrating mainly on herbaceous perennials we have a huge collection of
these valuable garden plants.
All our
plants are sold in large pots and are clearly labelled with information
that we have verified and written ourselves. By growing the
perennials ourselves on our own nursery we can honestly tell our customers
whether they are hardy or not in this area.
Our staff are
dedicated and knowledgeable but not afraid to admit that they will need to
check our extensive library if they they can't answer your question.

Among the
treats for the avid plant collectors we have Cardiocrinum Giganteum, Tropaeolum Speciosum (to order),
Mertensia pulmonarioides, Smilacina racemosa, Echinops tienschanicum,
Anemone trulifolia and Trilliums. We also have a good range of Peonies,
Penstemon, and Phlox as well as a lovely collection of genuine old roses
with such varieties as Rosa mutabilis, R. alba maxima, R. 'Rambling
Rector', R. 'Sarah Van Fleet', R. 'Duchess de Buccleugh' and the beautiful
R. 'Mme Isaac Pereire'.

We also
stock seasonal bedding, alpines and a few shrubs chosen to compliment a herbaceous
planting scheme.
Our pots
are very competitively priced and we always have plenty, as well as
genuine half whisky barrels. We also have a small garden centre shop
which offers a range of garden essentials.
